Weekend!!!

Hi Everyone,

This weekend I got to see a V.I.P tour of a tunnel that was part of a wine cellar that goes all the way the people square. I also went to an arcade called Tom's World, and Last but not least I went go carting!

V.I.P:
We were invited to a Wine Tasting--Juice tasting for me :) --Party. We asked, well Peter asked where the wine cellar was and we got a V.I.P tour with a ton of business people. We were in a building had a wine bar, restaurant and a Wine tasting classroom. After that Party we went out for dinner. We went to a lovely Chinese Resterant. We ate Tofu skin, Mango pudding, Pork, Chicken and lots of other types of food.

Tom's World:
Peter and I were invited to have brunch with his friends. We went to a restaurant called Indian Kitchen . After an "Ok " brunch we headed out to a mall with a Arcade in it. We didn't win a "Whole Honking Lot" of tickets. Our friends daughter's name was Emma and we played mmany games for Tickets. In the end we only got 140 tickets :( . Oh well we had fun!

Go Carting:
Oh my was that ever FUN!! I went sooo fast the vibration made me feel funny. I got overlaped 1 time, spun out 2 times and got bumped 3 times. Wow was it ever so vilant. The thing is I didn't want to bump 1 gocart because it had a young person in it....maybe 6.

Well Better get ready for annoying fire crackers and for my moms school tomorow. TTYL(Talk to you later)

Philippiens Part 1

Hi Everyone,

I just got back from the Philippines and I’m so happy. I had the best Vacation and it was with my mom and only my mom. I went to 5 different places and they were all nice . I was on 3 boat rides and some of them where to bumpy.

Coron:

I was at a resort called Sangat. It was a nice place and lots of coral to swim with the fish in. The food was nice because there was and wasn’t a menu. It was really a buffet with a menu at the back on a chalk board. We rented a Kayak and borrowed some snorkling stuff. We went island hopping in the lagoons. The sun was nice as well it was all sunny—We needed to be prepared for sun stroke--nice white sandy beaches.

1 st Boat Ride:
Of course our first boat ride was the longest. 3 hours on a boat is a lot already but 7 hours is a little to much, don't you think. I slept the HOLE ride. I hardly was awake. It was boring that’s probably why. Sometimes I still wonder if the boat ride was worth it. Oh well if it was, Yay, If not, I am not going to be happy!

El Nido:

I was at a Resort called Dolarog. What do you know, we were right on the beach again. Oh well it's nice on a wight sandy beach. Like before we didn't get to pick our food-Oh well not picking are food is ok for me--the resort picked the food and gave it to us. It was like a two person buffet at our table just for me and my mom. Again we went island hopping--On my moms birthday-- in tiny lagoons. I didn’t want to go in tiny lagoons but her birthday, Her pick, That’s how it goes I guess. Well at lest I met dutch people.

Philippiens Part 2

Hi Everyone,
It's Part 2!!!

2 end Boat Ride:

Finally a sort boat ride.....but yet long...this time only 5 hours :) . This time I didn’t sleep..... I listened to music and was reading my book.....and of course my mom was on her second book.

Port Barton:

We were at a resort called Greenview. Man was Port Barton small. Well compared to everywhere we went already....It was a little to small. We were on a tiny, little, single bed. Everywhere else we had a big bed......Oh well it was still nice. We called it our lovely relaxing place mean wile......it was raining. This might sound weird but we were relaxing in the cold, wet, depressing rain :( . Finally we got to pick our food. The only thing that sounded good was the fish we ate, well not only sounded good but what we could order. Ummm....... but at least the food we got was good. The same thing with the drinks........ NO SPRITE....... only coke. It was still a nice place. Can't be all mad about there service at the restaurant, bar type thing.

Philippiens Part 3

Hey Everyone,

It's Part 3

3rd and final last boat ride:

I don’t wanna talk about it........ well not a lot of it. Finally a really sort boat ride...... 2 hours no wait 3 hours. Evil waves its all there fault...they had to be BIGGER then the boat that day. The boat was only a 4 seater and it had to be that typical day. I felt like I was going to get sea sick...... Oh wait a second.........Thanks alot waves is all I was thinking.

Sabang:

We stayed at a resort called Daluyon. I don't know were to start....wait a minute...yes I do. The food..it was SUPER expensive and totally disgusting. The only thing that was good was......oh wait...NOTHING.......the pizza was the best the we had. The drinks...now I definately don't know were to start good or bad....ummmmm.....lets start bad.......there wasn't anything bad about the drinks because everything was good. The resort itself was just lovely. It was nice to have your own queen bed or was it king.....well anyway it was big. The pool was really nice. It was big and.....Oh there was those jets and there was this thing that sucks up the water....I call them sucker jets but thats beside the point. It was nice but bad. Atleast it was nice.

Puerta Princesa:

The smallest time to spend with a area in our whole vacation. We went to a pizza place wait not a pizza place the BEST pizza place.

Hong Kong

Hey Everyone,

This is still sorta like Philippiens Part 4 :)

Hong Kong:

Wow it was nice there.....well the time we stayed there. I got to see the Street stars and when there was someone a knew I put my hand--or foot--on there star--or my hand in there hand print. We thought we had reservations at YMCA but we had reservations at YWCA.......so we just stayed at a hostel. It was a jockey club Hostel. Ummmmm it wasnt the best hostel. Well we had fun and thats all that matters.

Train To Shanghai From Hong Kong:

7 hour boat is sort to me now...... 20 hour train is a little to much to my senses. We slept on the top bunk and bonked my head in the morning. We met 3 brits and played Uno with them....me and my mom played our own game called Gin Rummy. When we were getting ready to leave it was like a race to the pit stop on the Amazing Race.

Nice school

Hey Everyone,

I am at my Moms school. The name is Soong Ching Ling Kindergarten. Its really cool. They have a pool, roller blading space, Cooking area, play ground, and of course class rooms. Plus it is really big and I really mean BIG!

Today, was the last school day until Chinese New Year. That is why my moms class had a street fair in the hall ways of the school. I got to see Mock Chinese Tradition. I help with the paper cutting art table and I also helped with the paper Chinese fir crackers. The paper cutting art was similar to snow flakes. The main different was the detail was much more Asian then a snowflakes. Now the snacks were very Chinese. That is way I only tried one thing. The sunflower seeds were not salty, there were sweet!! No, I am not saying awesome sweet. I am saying sweet like a candy sweet. Personally I didn't like them but you may.

The kids were dressed in there qipao(chi pow) and cheongsong (chiang sung). They all looked very cute. I wish I had one.
I am signing out because I have to catch a bus home. Next post will be from the sunny Philippines.

What a great day meeting french people.

Hi Everyone,

Day 3 and lots of things are going on. I have just met some people from a company called Sekkei studio. The cool thing about meeting them is that they are French and they're from Grenoble, France. It's cool because I am from a french immersion school and there are lots of French people in Shanghai. I got to work with one of Peter's friends and the co-owner whose name is Elodie. She showed me how to do graphic designs. Its all with Mac computers. I looked in this big book with Logo Ideas. When I was looking at them I was thinking about doing something like that when I get older, meaning I need a Mac computer,NOW!

After we left the studio, we went to go get some lunch at a local Chinese restaurant not that far from the studio. We ordered lots and I really mean lots of food! There was so much they offered me some spicey food. Man did I ever say NO!!! When we were leaving, we had to say bye to one of the designers named Khalid. Next stop, was a caffe with David and Elodie. Everyone had a Moca except me. Meanwhile, I was having a hot coco. Of course, at the end of that evening we had to say bye to David and Elodie. Peter and I went home and picked up my mom. We spent the evening watching shows from the United States on our satalite system. This is the only way that we can watch shows that everybody back home watches like the new episode of American idol or the finale of Top Chef!

First Day back in China!!!!

Hey everyone!

My first offical blog post for the Funky World of Bailey and my 2009 trip to China.

I have just arrived back in China. It felt like I hadn't left. My mom went to work at her school and that's when I went to go get some hot coco at a cafe called Costa Coffee. In my area, there are many different coffee shops along with lots of chinese shops. I brought my homework while Peter was in a meeting with the director of Free The Children China. I got to meet Annie Chang and I told her about our school and the H20 club plus the projects that we do. Boy o Boy, these people sure like they're meetings!! I slurped on my rasberry hot coco and worked on my homework until 11:30.

After that, our friend Annie invited us to go to Pearl City. This is the place where you get everything and I mean everything super cheap!!Pearl City is a huge building that has all sorts of shops. If you need shoes, shirts, DS games or you are looking for jewelry, it's here. All 3 floors of it. Its all about the bargining in that place. The unique thing about doing shopping in China at the local stores is that you can make a deal with the owner of any of the small shops.

When we got home we didnt even sit down, we went out to lunch at Julie's. To get to Julies we went down the pedestrian walk way. This is a restaurant area with all kinds of food from all over the world. Spanish, french, Thai and Italian. I should also mention there are many Chinese restaurants too! I had a lovely Bacon cheese buger with a Salad. Wait a second, isnt that a canadian dish?? O well, it was good anyway. Peter introduced me to another person. He seems to like doing that to me!!! Hmmm. This time it was a guy named Gary. Not from Sponge Bob but from Austrailia and he is one of the owners. This is when I learned that Julie's is named after the wife of one of the other people at Julie's.

We were at home for about an hour and then we were out the door to go pick up my mom. My mom surprised us with the news that we were going out for a Chinese hot pot. A Hot Pot is a big pot that is divided by separators and there are three things of soup stock. One is spicy, one is mild and the middle was a mushroom stock(Peter couldn't eat that one, good!). You then have to cook the food yourself. Here is a video from Youtube on How to cook Hotpot by some other traveller. After that hot pot we went to a local movie shop and picked up a bunch of movies.

Shanghai is a busy place. That was my first day!!!
